Business Development Manager

The role of a Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business for our clients. This is done by cold calling businesses that will benefit from doing business with our client. The goal is to profile, prospect and nurture a contact into a lead which is then passed on to the sales team of our client. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for providing unmatched customer service, gathering data, accurate and detailed documentation & coding into Salesforce and developing and maintaining relationships through consistent contact.

Essential Functions.

As the main point of contact for those leveraging Concept for digital services, every day is different. However, we expect the Digital Account Manager to take charge of the following:

  • Providing strategic end-to-end account management
  • Identifying opportunities that lead to retention and growth of existing accounts
  • Understanding the client’s industry, competitive positioning and messaging
  • Participating in digital strategy development
  • Understanding Concept’s digital areas of expertise enough to represent them in high-level conversations with our clients and translate needs into deliverables
  • Setting the internal team up for success with clear documentation and task management
  • Creating and overseeing project timelines, ensuring tasks are scheduled, allocated, and completed within the discussed timeframe
  • Organizing and leading monthly client-facing meetings to ensure they understand our strategy and that we align with their objectives
  • Promptly addressing scope of customer challenges and issues
  • Leading project teams of content writers, analysts, developers, and designers to ensure all projects are completed on time and above expectations
  • Staying current with modern marketing trends

Qualifications.

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in account management – agency environment is a plus
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in standing in front of a client or room full of peers and providing opinions on a presentation
  • The ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and enable all participants to feel equally invested in strategies and executions for success
  • A strong aptitude for strategic thinking and tactical execution
  • Ability to manage a diverse client portfolio across various brands, industries, and service offerings

Preferred Qualifications.

Some individuals are better qualified than others. While these skills are not necessary, having them is certainly a plus.

  • Experience with digital marketing including email marketing, SEO, and paid search
  • Understanding of digital marketing metrics and the platforms we leverage for reporting – like Google Analytics
  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce.com is Preferred)
  • Experience with Marketing Automation Platforms (HubSpot is Preferred)
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in business, communications, or related field
